Pottery has opened many doors and I will be forever grateful to all the generous artist/instructors who have shared their skills and knowledge.

TILE WORK

FUNCTIONAL CERAMICS

Silversmithing is my new branch of creativity.  It started out as a complement to the ceramics, but has taken on a life of its own.

CLAY MONO PRINTS

 STRENGTH THROUGH DESIGN

SISU - Finnish term for Determination, perseverence, and grit - also very canadian!

my story

Clay Mono Prints are created by layering patterns of coloured clay on a clay slab and then transferring that pattern onto a fabric substrate.  Each picture is only possible once, as that layer of clay is absorbed by the fabric, making each print unique.

It has also been a privilege to travel: the people and places enrich all of life, and influence each piece of art.

Tiles have allowed me to merge my love of clay with a need to make a graphic statement to hang on the wall.  Please enjoy!

JEWELRY

Everything and everyone has a story to tell. My goal is to create a "still life" object that connects with you and your story and emotions.

Well-intentioned and well designed hand made tableware brings beauty and sophistication into our lives.  It's practically art.

SCULPTURE

I hope you can see traces of these places in my work:

Australia, China, Japan, Crete, Italy, New Zealand, Scandinavia, Ireland, and many US workshop destinations.

Thank you for spending time on this site, and I hope you find something you like.

I've been so lucky to take part in a world renowned ceramic course which gave the opportunity to learn from the best in their field and have access to studios and artists all over the world.

My family is first. Central to that is the idea that we must all keep learning every day - both to stay interested, and interesting to those around us.
